Westpac Stadium in 360°

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
29 August 2018

Westpac Stadium is New Zealand’s premiere multi purpose outdoor sports and events facility. This venue was one P3D had our eye on for a little while now so it is a great thrill to be able to announce and preview the tour for Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

The process began prior to visiting the National Digital Forum (NDF) forum in Wellington last November. P3D’s Marcia Jessen approached the Stadiums marketing team with a view to visiting our display stand at NDF as a straightforward way of showcasing what we are capable.

Westpac’s team were excited by the potential to create a 360 Custom Tour of the Stadium, it’s entrances from an accessibility point of view and conference spaces on offer to corporates.

The creation of the tour began back in March this year – The first piece of photography was taken with an aerial drone over the stadium – this was taken with a view to showcase the stadium access points. These range from the Wellington Train Stadium, Thorndon Spiral, The Fran Wilde Walkway as well as the carpark these were a focus to ensure the Stadium patrons know the different ways of transport to the stadium. Another drone image taken at 200ft showcases the Circular Westpac Stadium in all its glory from a bird’s eye view.

Another focus for showcasing the stadium via 360 Virtual imagery is to help grow its membership club. This adjective is captured from the members and corporate entrances as well as the facilities on offer to them.

“The 3D Property team were a treat to deal with. Marcia was always there to answer any questions along the way. They were so patient and worked around any restrictions that were put in front of them. We are delighted with the end product!’’

Amy Lynch, Digital & Fan Engagement Executive – Westpac Stadium

P3D are proud to have completed another stunning custom virtual tour for a landmark New Zealand Stadium and event venue. It’s a great addition to our portfolio and one that we think will benefit our clients both for the future by locals and international stadium attendees as they can view prior to heading to future events at the Westpac Stadium.

Platinum Homes enjoying the benefits of RealSCAN

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
7 August 2018

P3D and Platinum Homes began working together back in 2016 in a bid to showcase the multiple and varied show homes that Platinum Homes have throughout NZ.

Shaun Riley CEO and Lloyd Cloughley BDM from Platinum Homes wanted to use two of P3D’s different technologies – RealSCAN (Matterport) and Google Virtual Tour so people would be able to virtually view the fifteen show homes that were at that time open nationwide.

Our photographer travelled across the country completing the shoots, the imagery was uploaded to Google and the RealSCAN’s were completed and added to the specially designed Platinum Homes App. The App was created to provide Platinum Homes Sales Reps a way to show potential home owners the chance to see and tour the different floor plan options offered by Platinum Homes without needing to travel across the country to walk through them.

We are proud to announce that in July 2018, Platinum Homes head office decided to make the RealSCAN’s of the current show homes available on their website for a much wider audience to view. Consequently they have seen a dramatic surge in views in just 6 days with the total views jumping from 665 to an astounding 5570.

We look forward to seeing these numbers continue to grow over the coming weeks and months as more potential home buyers choose to virtually take a look at the gorgeous, high quality homes that Platinum Homes build.

Transbuild breaks P3D hit rate record with RealSCAN’s of their showhomes

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
20 July 2018

P3D were approached by the team from Transbuild, a NZ owned and operated company based in Papakura who creates consciously designed transportable buildings for ease of movement yet deliver maximum footprint. These quality built commercial and residential buildings are built in a factory with standardised materials and processes ensuring the construction time frame is condensed, plus site works can occur simultaneously.

Transbuild was wanting to showcase two of their residential options via our RealSCAN technology ahead of Fieldays 2018. Our photographer and account manager Marcia Jessen visited and captured the RealSCAN imagery at their Papakura manufacturing site and was able to create two scans which were used on social media to let people know Transbuild were showcasing their designs at Fieldays. Visibility was two-fold … letting visitors know what they could explore at the event/or take another look once home after the event, but also for those that couldn’t attend this year experience the spaces from the comfort of their own home.

In the lead up to Fieldays, Transbuild pushed these two show homes on Facebook and experienced (and continue to experience) an extraordinary number of individual views of these spaces. It is the highest hit rate P3D has seen on our RealSCAN offering with over 20,500 views in just under two months of the product being live.

We look forward to seeing these numbers grow in the coming months and continuing to build our relationship with Transbuild with future spaces being captured by our RealSCAN solution.

Explore Repco Northshore Auto Centre in 3D

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
1 June 2018

We are excited to share a RealSCAN we recently did at Repco.

Repco New Zealand approached P3D in early April asking us to shoot and create a RealSCAN ahead of their Roadshow in early May.

Repco Australia has previously used the technology and we’re wanting to create something similar for the New Zealand market. We used the technology to showcase the Wairau Road Auckland store.

This enables Repco’s customers and future visitors the chance to view the store online and be able to learn more about the products in store and how to locate them.

It was great to work with such a recognisable NZ brand and to be able to utilise our RealSCAN technology for such a large commercial space.

AUT Virtual Tour goes live

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
22 March 2018

The relationship between AUT (Auckland University of Technology) and P3D began back in 2014 when two student interns from AUT joined the P3D team.  In their newly found roles, they were keen to showcase AUT as they realised that this new way of presenting spaces would work perfectly for the numerous AUT buildings.

From an initial phone call to numerous site visits to the three Auckland campuses, P3D began shooting the imagery back in late 2016 and this continued into early 2017. Two photographers worked tirelessly to capture over 2200, 360 stills throughout the different lecture theatres, classrooms and common areas across all the campuses. This project involved distinct planning in which our project team had to work closely with AUT to pick the best time to shoot the buildings, taking consideration of room use, term time, weather, construction and so on. The imagery has been live on Google Maps for just under a year, however, the focus of the project was around building the custom tour. Each campus is broken down by building and floor levels which feature 360 stills showcasing the space. This immersive way of marketing the university will allow for more domestic and international students to view the university – find which classroom they may be in for the following semester or browsing the University as a whole.

The project in its entirety has been an immersive experience from start to finish. From business analysis, project lifecycle management, photography, design, implementation, to training – we are delighted with the result. This is the first University in New Zealand to be completely digitised in an immersive Virtual Tour.

Accessibility Virtual Tour

MEDIA RELEASEProperty3D
21 December 2017

We are pleased and proud to announce our latest virtual tour and solution to the world. This tour takes our 360 imagery to a new level!

This virtual tour product (also referred to as Accessibility Pathway Tour) has been designed to give patrons and their caregivers the confidence to engage with live events across the city in a safe and prepared manner. Property3D anticipates other industries will take up the initiative as they see the success of APT for Auckland Live.

A very exciting release by P3D. This is the first step towards creating a fully integrated service for a wide range of impairments. We’re excited to continue to develop the technology to meet the needs of a wider range of patrons.

P3D’s Project & Client Relationship Manager, Katrine Cramer, says “Our exclusive new product; Accessibility Pathway Tour (APT) is the culmination of hours of analysis, thought and development. Its primary function is to familiarise end-users with a facility before they visit, done via a series of 360 images of a venue. APT will be a wonderful resource for those with mobility impairments and we acknowledge our client, Auckland Live, for taking a jump into this area with us. We have enjoyed a truly collaborative process with the innovative team at Auckland Live and we look forward to unfolding this exciting product to the marketplace.”

First accessibility virtual tour of venue launched

Exterior of Auckland Town Hall

Auckland Live has launched the first accessibility virtual tour of a New Zealand venue to assist disabled and mobility-impaired concertgoers at the Auckland Town Hall.

The online tour on its website is an intuitive vehicle for audiences with accessibility needs to become familiar with the historic venue before stepping inside.

Built around 3-D images of the Town Hall’s Baroque-style interiors, the tour begins in the venue’s foyer, where virtual visitors can choose to navigate wheelchair and mobility-impaired pathways taking them to seating in the Great Hall and Chamber Concert. Step counts along the way, coupled with elevator access, floor plans and pathways to the box office, public toilets and the bar offer an enhanced experience of the Auckland Council A and Category 1 Heritage NZ listed building.

User-centric and innovative, the accessibility virtual tour is the culmination of hours of research and analysis by Auckland Live and virtual tour developers Property 3D, as well as consultation and testing with the disabled community.

Commitment to inclusiveness

Auckland Live director Robbie Macrae says the digital initiative highlights the organisation’s commitment to promote and support inclusiveness and access to the arts for all.

“By coupling the latest in digital tour technology with a 106-year-old building we’ve opened up the doors of the Town Hall wider than ever before,” Mr Macrae says.

“The enhanced accessibility allows more Aucklanders, particularly those with disability issues and the elderly, to enjoy the iconic Town Hall as well as experience the magic and memories created by the live arts experience.”

Taking the lead in 3D-modelling and mapping

Be. Accessible Charitable Trust programme director Neville Pulman says it’s great to see Auckland Live taking the lead with 3D-modelling and mapping of its venues.

He says research shows concertgoers with access needs rate the availability of quality accessibility information prior to an event as a top priority.

“Auckland Town Hall’s new virtual tour delivers on that by giving accurate, updatable information that’s easy to use and reference prior to or during your visit.”

Accessibility virtual tours will be launched online for The Civic, Aotea Centre and Bruce Mason Centre in 2018.

National Digital Forum

MEDIA RELEASE: Property3D
21 November 2017

Last week Katrine and Marcia from P3D attended the National Digital Forum in Wellington. This was a gathering of the who’s who in the digital world of New Zealand’s cultural and heritage venues across the country. This event was a great success for P3D to showcase our latest work to the other digital innovators that attended the forum.

We were very grateful and pleased to see that Auckland Live also used this opportunity to publicly showcase the Auckland Town Hall Accessibility Virtual Tour. (APT) There was no better time to utilize the chance to present the tour to over 300 attendees.
